The state of the squad is entirely at Sullivan's feet, he presided over his vanity signings and asset stripping to pay for them

Bloke is a lunatic

Btw he could have easily played Lanzini or Benrahma instead of noble but was to negative.

We are a fucking boring team set up to counter attack even against the shit teams. We have got the players to have a go but we never do. Dull football by a dull manager. We're about as exciting as Burnley.

Re: ⚽ Man Utd v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-0
The inclusion of Noble as a starter is wrong as it upsets the balance in the midfield setup with Rice and Soucek.
This was a missed opportunity to have a real go at utd. We needed to be brave and get on the front foot. unfortunately, we weren't and lost the game. The smart thing is to learn from it.

We are not just up there on merit, we've been fucking lucky at lot of the time.

_______

I disagree, we've been very lucky with injuries for once, but we're where we are down to grinding out decent results against the lower clubs. That, along with some excellent signings, is where Moyes has excelled.

But yesterday yet again showed why Moyes has won fuck all in his career, why his managerial record against the top clubs is so dire and why he can only take us so far and no further.

It is given previous form - plus the fact we've spunked 80mm on two absolute shitters etc etc.

Fact is - we've had the rub all season - that has never happened to us - and yes, we should capitalise on it as it wont happen again next season. We are not just up there on merit, we've been fucking lucky at lot of the time.

Will be disappointing to fall away, but I think we might be letting our expectations get away from us ala spurs fans.

Re: ⚽ Man Utd v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-0
We set out to hold them to 0-0 and try and nick a goal in last 15 - 20 minutes.

Noble will only ever appear on pitch to give us experience, because of injury or when the boss wants to shore up. He's a symptom, not the cause, you lot need to ease up on him.

We aren't going to agree with every decision, tactic and team week in, week out.

In recent years all we'd have worried about in these games was our GD, the fact that we came out with -2 against the two Manchester clubs who are 1st and 2nd and are disappointed shows how far we have come.

Chalk it up, move on. Sign Jesse.

The End.

After the shambles Pellegrini left behind, just staying up is a bit of a turn up. Two forty million pound wasters, a squad full of dead wood, shit keepers, Carlos Sanchez on sixty bags a week.

What a clown outfit.

The tactics were that of taking the featal position and at this stage of the season and the momentum we gained by being 5th it was wrong to cower. Mark needs to do the Noble thing and it doesn’t involve wearing the captains armband. All we’ve witnessed is the owners get out line on Moyes when they want to stitch him up.

Re: ⚽ Man Utd v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-0
Our goals in open play have dried up and that is a worry. Soucek, Antonio etc not getting the service and opportunity. Obvs Lingard playing well helps. Our defensive play remains excellent. I assume he was hoping for 0-0 before launching the attack later in the game and that’s not worked.

I don't call finishing 8th and going out of yet another two cup competitions without so much of a whimper to be a "massive achievement"

"I still maintain a top 8 finish, taking into consideration last season is a massive achievement"

Of course it will be. But finishing 8th, missing out on Europe by 1 spot, would leave me thinking "What could have been?"

Re: ⚽ Man Utd v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-0
Well, they need to be approached like the first half of the Man U home game where we should have been 3 goals clear and not the Liverpool one where we seemed overawed & embarrassed to be on the same pitch as them.
We ARE due a bit of fortune against Arsenal as well.

Re: ⚽ Man Utd v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-0
Fully aware of where we are in the table at the moment but we have no chance of finishing in the top 5. As much as I would enjoy it, I still maintain a top 8 finish, taking into consideration last season is a massive achievement. There is still a long way to go, and with our current 1 good game in 3 run rate (I'm talking performance not results) just see us falling away as the season grinds on. Pray to god I'm wrong, but don't think I am.

'We gave them a game'

Did we bollocks
They won't get an easier game all year.

Pathetic from Moyes
Wouldn't surprise me at all if he did it again at the weekend.

Says it all that noble took our first corner. Cresswell and Bowen far superior delivery but no, captain fantastic has to take it. Selfish and arrogant.

Re: ⚽ Man Utd v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-0
This is where the coaching set up should work better.
Maybe it is happening but at least one of the assistants should be challenging Moyes over this.
Playing Noble with Soucek & Rice only seems to upset the balance and make those two less effective.
Obviously having Lingard & hopefully Fornals back v Arsenal will make us more threatening but we have had too many games away against the Big 6 where we have surrendered before we started with a negative selection that only seems to make us worse.
Man City (head and shoulders the best team in the league) away is the template for what our approach should be.
Obviously doesn't help though that our squad is basically about 16 players tops.

Lee Trundle 10:13 Mon Mar 15
Re: ⚽ Man Utd v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-0
That defeat and performance solely comes down to the manager. I'm not sure the penny will ever drop with him that setting up and playing that way doesn't work if you want to succeed.

One things for sure, it'll be a great way for him to turn things toxic quickly when the crowds come back. Prepare for the groans and boos as that's what that performance deserves.

Sajmo1 10:08 Mon Mar 15
Re: ⚽ Man Utd v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-0
What baffles me the most is that we gave City a really good game, created more then them and then went at the Old Trafford and parked the bus against a team miles below City's level. Hope I'm wrong but this game could've been the difference between us getting europe and finishing midtable but we choked it.
